Lead Matrix vs a lead generation agency: what is the difference?

Lead generation agency or Lead Matrix: UK prices, transparency, time to launch and visibility on results compared, to help you choose.

A lead generation agency runs your prospecting for you and reports back, often once a month; Lead Matrix also runs your campaigns for you, but with an AI, a team of experts and a dashboard where you see everything in real time, for a subscription with public prices. Both options mean delegating: the difference lies in transparency, speed and price.

UK agency prices come from guides published by agencies themselves (Supernova, May 2026; Flowd, January 2026). They vary with channels, volumes and how hard your market is to reach.

What UK agencies say they charge

  • Monthly retainers: Supernova describes three tiers in the UK, £1,500 to £2,500, £2,500 to £5,000, and £5,000 to £8,000 or more a month. Flowd says its own campaigns start at around £4,000 a month, with some clients spending up to £10,000.
  • Pay-per-meeting: £150 to £500 per qualified meeting according to Supernova; Flowd puts the best teams at £150 to £250 and average ones at £250 to £500.
  • Dedicated outsourced SDR: £2,500 to £5,000 per seat per month in the UK, according to Supernova.

These are vendors' own figures, not an independent survey. Use them as an order of magnitude and ask for a written quote.

Choose a traditional agency if…

  • you want phone calls or intensive multichannel work;
  • you would rather have a single contact who handles everything, without looking at the detail;
  • you are looking for a pay-per-meeting arrangement.

Choose Lead Matrix if…

  • you want to see who is contacted and what is sent;
  • you want to start fast, with a price known in advance;
  • you want interested prospects delivered to your own workspace, and to follow them through to signature.

Frequently asked questions

Is Lead Matrix an agency?

Not in the traditional sense. Lead Matrix combines software (AI and a dashboard) with a team of experts, for a subscription with public prices. You keep visibility on targeting, conversations and results.

Is pay-per-meeting better value?

It reduces the apparent risk, but the price per meeting is high (£150 to £500 according to UK agency guides) and the quality of meetings varies. Check how a "qualified" meeting is defined in the contract. A subscription gives you a predictable cost and a known number of prospects contacted.

Can I switch provider later?

Yes. With Lead Matrix, interested prospects, your notes and your pipeline belong to you and can be exported. With any provider, check who owns the sending domains and the data when the contract ends.
